Buzzyeah: Thank You, Radiohead. It’s About ****ing Time

i feel you on the trent reznor, but in my opinion, i think radiohead kind of shafted its fans.

i'm not calling myself a fan, because i'm not, but offering us the choice to pay for an album (and a lot of us paying) only to distribute a low bitrate version of the album, then turning around and selling that disgusting box set with whoever the label/distributor is completely shitty.

yeah in the future i will be entering $0.00 when given the choice on these low bitrate Internet downloads. i'm going to use the free low bitrate downloads as previews. if i like them than i might decide to buy the high bitrate, audiophile CDs.

well it's not even an issue of paying though, you know? i mean, i'm sure if fans KNEW a cd release would be available shortly after the (fake) e-drop, 90% of the people who paid would have waited.

i think higher bitrate CDs are king as long as they bring in the major label money. however, as soon as digital downloads (direct from artists) provide a serious business model than their bitrates will go up and audiophiles will be happy.

but regardless of bitrates, i will still want to preview music before i shell over money. artists need to figure that into their distribution models (and business models).
